Molars and premolars have a lot of fine grooves on their surfaces in which food particles get lodged. Left untreated, bacteria starts growing in these grooves and eventually causes cavities. Dental sealants can help prevent the formation of cavities in these teeth.

During the process, the tooth is first cleaned and dried, after which an acidic solution is applied to the tooth. Next, the sealant is applied and is hardened with the help of a blue light. The procedure is painless, does not take very long, and the results last for about ten years.
